White blood cell count
Unlike a differential, a white blood cell count is used to measure the number of white cells in the body. This means the test will show you the total count of all types rather than the percentage of each category. However, keep in mind that there will be never an absolute figure because the count would vary, depending on many factors. A healthy range should be from 4,300 to 10,800. Abnormal results that are out of the normal range would indicate some health issues, such as blood disorders, immune deficiencies, and autoimmune diseases.
