As said above, the expiration date is the period in which the ingredients in mouthwash products stay stable and effective to use. In most cases, mouthwash can be used for a maximum of around 2 to 3 years after the manufacture date. After this period, active ingredients, such as alcohol and fluoride, begin to dissolve and break down despite their normal smell and appearance.
