People with dementia often experience a sudden decline in their cognitive abilities, especially when it is caused by a transient ischemic attack or stroke. These problems tend to occur rather quickly, depending on changes in the cognitive system. In Alzheimer’s disease, the same problems can also happen but mostly affect memory and thinking capabilities.
