When Can You Enrol for Medicare?
If people are getting benefits from Social Security, they can be automatically enrolled in Medicare Parts A and B once they turn 65. In other cases, they can still enroll on their own in the following periods:
– Initial enrolment period: 3 months before the 65th birthday, the birthday month, and 3 months after the 65th birthday
– Late enrolment period: Between January 1 and March 31 each year [8]
