Recovery from Breast Reconstruction Surgery
After breast reconstruction surgery, your doctor will prescribe some medications to help reduce pain and discomfort. You may leave the hospital in a couple of days. During recovery, you would feel sore and tired for one or two weeks. Ask your healthcare provider to know which activity you should avoid. Depending on your overall health and the form of breast reconstruction surgery, the exact time for recovery can vary. Most people may feel better after several weeks and resume their daily tasks several weeks later. Inform your doctor as soon as you experience fluid leakage, extreme pain, lumps, swelling, or abnormal bleeding from the breast. [6]
