Proton Beam Therapy
Proton beam therapy is relatively similar to radiation therapy. It involves the use of high energy to kill cancer cells. Nevertheless, the rays consist of positive elements or accelerated protons, which are directly passed through tissue. Compared to traditional radiation, this treatment is thought to be as effective. However, there will be less damage to healthy, normal cells. Since this a new treatment option, more studies still need to apply it more in treating advanced prostate cancer. [6]
