8 Multiple Sclerosis Treatments

Drug Infusions

Infused treatments can be a great option to relieve flares and symptoms for those people with advanced or aggressive multiple sclerosis. In this method, drugs will be injected intravenously, meaning that you will get them via your vein. Make sure to get it done by your healthcare provider instead of injecting yourself to avoid any accidents. Some common drugs that are often taken in this treatment include alemtuzumab (lemtrada), mitoxantrone (novantrone), natalizumab (tysabri), ocrelizumab (ocrevus). Each infused medication can cause some side effects such as nausea, chills, flushing, bruising, headache, fever, or rash. Keep in mind that these options aren’t always suitable for everyone. There are still rare yet serious complications. Thus, make sure to consult your doctor before taking.  [3]
