Cognitive Processing Therapy
Cognitive processing therapy is based on the notion that you are unable to process fully what occurred to you immediately after a traumatic event. When you try to understand the event and its effects on your life, you would eventually make some negative decisions or conclusions. For instance, you would decide that it is unsafe to put your trust in anybody or you are the person to blame for your mistake. Cognitive processing therapy can help find out and rearrange these false conclusions. [2]
