10 Good Jobs for Retirees

Substitute Teacher or Teacher Assistant

When you are interested in working with students or children, it is a good idea to become a teacher assistant or a substitute teacher. As an assistant, you often work under the supervision of another licensed teacher to provide students with extra instruction and attention. In many districts, this job does not require a degree or specific license to get hired. You can choose to work in childcare centers, preschools, high schools, middle schools, or elementary schools, and deal with students on a one-on-one basis, in small groups, or in an entire class. In these educational institutions, there are also other job positions for retirees, such as administrative tasks, bus drivers, or cafeteria and service positions. [7]
