What Is Shoulder (Subacromial) Bursitis?

Symptoms

When shoulder bursitis occurs, some movements of this body part could be affected. Even simple tasks can cause discomfort and pain. The intensity can vary, depending on the underlying cause and affected part. Typical signs include:

– Pain and pressure when pushing on the shoulder’s top

– Pain when rotating the arm

– Discomfort when opening or pushing on the window or door

– Worse pain when lifting the arm to one side

– Discomfort when lying on the shoulder

– Redness and swelling around the shoulder

– Limited range of movement in the joints of the shoulder

Pain and discomfort tend to worsen during the knight or after an extended period of staying still. If you also have a fever, it may be a sign of infection. [2]
