Hypnic Headache
A hypnic headache often occurs for the first time when you turn 50, but it could also happen earlier. It causes a throbbing pain on both parts of your head, which can be mild or moderate. This type often wakes you up at night and lasts for up to 180 minutes. Some other signs include sensitivity to sound and light or nausea. You would have a few attacks during the week. The exact causes and triggers are still unknown. Though hypnic headaches are relatively innocuous, you need to consult your doctor as it would indicate an underlying medical condition. [4]
