Social Anxiety Disorder

Also known as social phobia, social anxiety disorder is a condition in which people have considerable discomfort, fear, and worry about many social situations. They do not attend or participate in those activities at work or school that involve the interactions. This is usually due to the anxiety of being rejected, humiliated, or judged by other people. Therefore, it is not uncommon for these individuals to endure or avoid social interactions. Some typical examples include the extreme fear of doing activities in public areas, meeting new people, or public speaking. [3]
