Depression
Many studies have shown that depression and anxiety is a prominent symptom in Tourette’s syndrome. As a neuropsychiatric condition, it might affect many parts of the brain and cognitive system, thus leading to a few mental issues. In addition, stressors and pressures from surrounding people in the communities would worsen the symptom. Thus, it is not uncommon for people with Tourette’s syndrome to isolate themselves from others. Treating this symptom can be hard and time-consuming. In most cases, cognitive therapies are the best options, while drugs and medications only provide temporary effects. [8]
