Tetanus: Causes, Symptoms and Treatments

Massage

Massaging the jaw joints and masseter muscles can be helpful in alleviating the pain caused by tetanus. All you need is to apply gentle pressure and massage the jaw muscles. You can do this with the help of your middle finger and index finger, make sure to find tender points by rubbing the cheeks. Once you have pinpointed the area, massage in a circular motion in around 30 seconds. Be careful and avoid pressing too hard, which can worsen the pain. Ideally, you should apply slight pressure to ensure relaxation without painful sensations. [15]
