Ten Vestibular Migraine Triggers You Should Know

Foods and Beverages

Several foods and drinks have been known to cause migraine attacks. They are believed to cause vestibular migraine as well. These may include dairy products (milk, cheese, or butter), caffeinated drinks (tea, coffee, cacao), alcohol, chocolate, aspartame, citrus fruits, nuts, monosodium glutamate or MSG, foods containing yeast, fatty foods, as well as processed meats. Scientists have found that several compounds in these products, especially phenolic components in alcohol and fruits, would play a part in the development of vestibular migraine. They can interact with various pathways in your brain and increase the risk. However, more research is still needed to learn more about the possible link between vestibular migraine and these food triggers. [2]
