Sore Tongue – Causes, Symptoms & Treatments

Food Allergy

Some foods might lead to a sore tongue due to allergic effects. This condition is also known as oral allergy syndrome or pollen-food syndrome. Some common triggers might include veggies, fruits, and some nuts. In addition to a sore tongue, you would also have a scratchy throat, itchy mouth, and swollen tongue, mouth or lips. This issue mostly occurs in younger adults, teenagers, and older children. If the symptoms get worse, an epinephrine auto-injector might be suggested to get temporary relief. [3]
