Injury
A single injury caused by overstretching or a sudden fall would result in a rotator cuff tear. However, most cases of rotator cuff tendonitis are mostly triggered by chronic problems. With gradually wear and tear, the tendons might become inflamed and injured, leading to reduced mobility, weakness, and pain. Some common shoulder injuries include:
– Pinched tendon: Your supraspinatus tendon might be pinched between shoulder bones and cause rotator cuff tendonitis
– Bursitis: The condition would also be caused by the scarring or swelling of your rotator cuff, also known as bursitis [4]
