Possible Causes of a Movable Lump on Your Jaw Bone

Swollen Lymph Nodes

Lymph nodes are small groups of cells located in many areas of the body. You can easily feel them on the skin’s surface around the chin or armpits. An infectious disease may cause these parts to become swollen due to a response of the body’s immune system. This would result in a movable lump on the right or left of your chin. The affected area tends to be flexible and soft. It would be tender to touch, but you often do not feel fain at all. Common causes of swollen lymph nodes include strep throat, measles, sinus infections, chickenpox, ear infections, a cold, Lyme disease, syphilis, or an abscessed tooth. The swelling may disappear within a few weeks. [2]
