Exposure to Sunlight
An environmental factor like exposure to sunlight would be a trigger of polymyalgia rheumatica. When you have to work directly under the sunlight for an extended period of time regularly, your superficial arteries can be gradually damaged. Many synovial membranes can also be affected by ultra-violet rays from the sun. Those damaged areas might make it more likely for the body to be infected by the viruses or bacteria causing polymyalgia rheumatica. Therefore, if your work is involved working outside frequently, make sure to wear protective gear and apply proper sunscreen to keep your body from these harmful effects. [12]
