Multiple Sclerosis (MS) Stages: What to Expect

4 Stages of Multiple Sclerosis

Clinically Isolated Syndrome

Clinically isolated syndrome is the earliest phase of neurological signs that happens when the immune system causes damage in the myelin. Symptoms tend to last more than 1 day and then subside or improve. They are typically not followed by an infection or fever. Keep in mind that clinically isolated syndrome is considered the first stage of multiple sclerosis, it does not always develop into this condition.[3]
