Adenomyosis
Adenomyosis is a condition that causes the endometrial tissue in the uterus to grow into the muscular wall. This eventually leads to damage to the uterine wall. It works like the usual uterine lining by shedding and growing each month. However, adenomyosis would also trigger heavy bleeding. The condition often occurs simultaneously with other gynecological issues like fibroids or endometriosis. The exact cause is still unclear, but the risk is higher in people after menopause. [4]
