Lower Back Pain Treatments

Cold Therapy

Cold therapy can be a great option for acute lower back pain. By applying frozen gel or ice to new or sudden musculoskeletal injury, you can help alleviate inflammation and numb the pain. You should place a bag of frozen vegetables, cold gel packs, ice cubes, or crushed ice to the most painful areas of the pain for around 10 to 15 minutes per hour. Stop when the discomfort and pain begin to fade away. Always warp frozen stuff in a cloth to prevent skin irritation or frostbite. Keep in mind that this method isn’t suitable for chronic or long-term lower back pain as it would worsen the symptoms. [5]
