Some genetic factors are associated with Lewy body dementia. Many recent studies have shown that the condition can be triggered due to several variants in 3 genes, GBA, SNCA, and APOE. This means that having a family history with this condition would increase your risk. However, keep in mind that Lewy body dementia is not a genetic disease. Currently, no genetic test would precisely predict the likeliness of developing this condition. [9]
