Glaucoma Causes & Risk Factors

Congenital Glaucoma

Certain infants are born with glaucoma. This form is also known as congenital glaucoma, which causes a defect in their eye’s angle. As a result, usual fluid drainage can be prevented or slowed. In general, it is a rare condition that would be inherited. Congenital glaucoma often occurs with typical symptoms, such as sensitivity to light, cloudy cornea, enlarged eyes, as well as excessive tearing. The good news is that children with this problem would have a high chance of recovering if they get proper treatments early.[2]
