1 Week

The first week of postpartum is probably the most intensive period when it comes to recovery and adjustment. You have just delivered the baby and have to take care of your newborn. In addition, there might be many delivery complications and perineum or vaginal tearing. The whole pelvic area and vagina would be abraded, swollen, and uncomfortable. The areola, nipples, and breasts tend to become sore. Hormone levels also change quickly to prepare the body for breastfeeding.[1]
