Foot Pain Diagnosis – What’s Causing Your Pain

Heel Spurs

Heel spurs are bone growths on the heel. They develop when the plantar fascia is overstretched due to overweight, improper footwear, or running. Excess pressure on this body part eventually pulls on the bone to which it is attached. Over time, extra bones are built as a response of the body. These spurs would cause pain and discomfort, especially when you walk and run. They can also be a result of several arthritic conditions. Treatment options include anti-inflammatory drugs, steroid injections, rest, and surgery in more severe cases. [3]
