Facts about Lazy Eye (Amblyopia) in Children

Lazy Eye Might Be Caused by Many Factors

There are many causes of lazy eye in children. For instance, major differences between the two eyes in farsightedness would result in the development of this condition. The brain will select the eye with better images and ignore the other. Another possible cause is the misalignment of both eyes. When they are crossed, the brain tends to favor the eye that is most aligned, thus weakening it. In addition, the lazy eye might be directly associated with some other health conditions such as strabismus, anisometropic amblyopia, or stimulus deprivation amblyopia. [2]
