Epilepsy is reported to be common in people with several developmental disorders like intellectual disability, cerebral palsy, down syndrome, or autism. Many kids are born with a special brain structure that is more susceptible to the condition. It is estimated that up to 30 percent of autistic people experience seizures at some points in their lives. In most cases, there are still no effective methods to prevent or cure these conditions.
