TSH Levels by Age
In general, levels of TSH in the blood tend to increase with age. Some studies have shown that the percentage of people with normal TSH ranges would fall in older age groups. In children, levels of TSH can also vary widely based on their age groups. TSH tends to be higher during the first few months and gradually decreases when they reach adulthood before increasing again when they age:
– From 0 to 4 days: normal TSH range between 1.6 and 34.3 mU/l
– From 2 to 20 weeks: normal TSH range between 0.58 and 5.57 mU/l
– From 20 weeks to 18 years: normal TSH range between 0.55 and 5.31 mU/l [5]
