8 Types of Multiple Myeloma

Non-secretory Myeloma

Many people with multiple myeloma do not general sufficient light chains or M proteins in the urine or blood. Therefore, some diagnostic tests in the lab cannot find out the presence of these signs, making it difficult to detect the condition. This type is known as non-secretory myeloma. Instead, these cancerous cells can only be found in the bone marrow. Thus, body imaging techniques are the only options to diagnose. These include X-rays, bone marrow biopsy, CT scan, or PET scan. [4]
