Steroid Injections
To ease the pain caused by shoulder impingement syndrome, your doctor may suggest injecting steroids into the shoulder. The effects may last for several weeks before the pain may recur. It is important to avoid doing exercises or physical activities involving the shoulder during this period. If necessary, another injection can be done. However, it is often not recommended to have more than two shots as it would damage your shoulder’s tendon in the long run. There can be also some possible side effects, such as skin lightening or dimpling in the injected area. [6]
