7 Triggers for Seizures

Heatstroke

There is a close association between heatstroke and seizures. When the temperature is too high, the heat would affect some basic functions of the body. People might have difficulty cooling down themselves. Once it goes beyond the levels that they can ensure, some neurons or brains cells would be at risk of being damaged. In other words, our brain cannot function properly at high temperatures, and a seizure can be a possible complication. This trigger is more common in the elderly or those people with a history of epilepsy. Fortunately, it can be prevented effectively by avoiding going outside when it is hot outside and turning on the air-conditioner. [3]
