Ringworm
Despite its name, ringworm is an infection caused by fungi rather than worms. It is typically characterized by a round rash with red, raised edge which can show up anywhere on your body, but mostly on legs and arms. In many cases, the condition might cause peel and flaking, but it is not painful. Ringworm is highly contagious and can spread easily via skin-to-skin contact, daily objects like bedding and towel, or contaminated surfaces. Pets could also readily carry the fungus. It could be treated effectively with topical or oral antifungal medications. [10]
