Nyctophobia
Many kids are fear of the dark. When this condition lasts into their adulthood, it is often considered nyctophobia. However, this phobia isn’t exactly the same as the fright of darkness, but the fear of unknown dangers existing in the darkness. It could lead to extreme symptoms when the light goes off such as nausea, sweating, or increased heart rate. In some cases, people with this condition could be treated by sleeping with the nightlight, while others must in a strongly lit space to feel comfortable. [12]
