Metastases
Metastases are not common with early stages of squamous or basal cell cancers. However, more advanced conditions might spread to other parts of your body and cause some severe symptoms in these areas. In some cases, you can detect skin cancer thanks to some common symptoms from metastases, which might spread to your brain, liver, lungs, bones, or lymph nodes. [8]
– In bones, it may cause weakening which results in fractures
– In the back, it can shoot down your legs, causing numbness or weakness, and loss of control with bowel movements
– In lungs, it would cause shortness of breath or persistent coughs
– In the liver, it can lead to jaundice or yellow skin
– In the brain, it might cause weakness, vision changes, seizures, or headaches
