Alport syndrome affects the membranes that filter blood inside the kidney, and when this happens, it can cause either microscopic or visible blood in the urine. This condition can also cause symptoms that resemble that resembles symptoms of the inflamed kidney; high blood pressure and bloating of some body parts. [11]
