10 Types of Brain Tumors

Meningioma

A meningioma often starts in the meninges, the tissue layers around the outer area of the spinal cord and the brain. It accounts for up to 33% of primary tumors in the brain, especially in adults. The risk of developing this type might go up with age, and it tends to happen twice as often in women. Meningiomas can also be hereditary and run in families, particularly in those people with neurofibromatosis. Based on the size of the tumor, it can be categorized into three forms: grade 1 or benign, grade 2 or invasive, and grade 3 or malignant. [4]
