10 Symptoms of Scleroderma

Cold Toes And Fingers

Raynaud’s phenomenon is one of the earliest signs of systemic scleroderma. This condition leads to the contraction of small blood vessels in your toes and fingers in response to stressful situations or cold temperatures. When this occurs, the skin becomes white and later turns cold, blue, and numb. It is estimated that up to 95 percent of people with scleroderma experience this symptom. However, keep in mind that Raynaud’s phenomenon can also affect those without scleroderma.[5]
