10 Natural Remedies for Eczema Relief

Bleach Bath

Studies have suggested that adding bleach into the bath would improve certain symptoms of eczema. This effect can be directly attributed to its anti-inflammatory and antibacterial effects. Bleach is also effective in eliminating bacteria on the skin surface and helps restore the skin’s microbiome. With bleach baths, you would reduce the need for antibiotic treatments and topical corticosteroids.

It is advisable to go for 6% plain bleach. Add half a cup to a bathtub and soak your body from 5 to 10 minutes. After that, rinse thoroughly with clean water and dry your body. Try using lukewarm water to prevent dryness and moisturize quickly after drying. In case you notice any redness, irritation, or discomfort, stop adding bleach in the bath. Those people with breathing issues or asthma should avoid this home remedy because of the strong fumes.[9]
