10 Symptoms of Whooping Cough

Difficulty in Breathing or Irregular Breathing

One major symptom of whooping cough is the difficulty in breathing it brings. In the process of fits of coughing, the patient experiences a continuous cough which does not give him or her any space to catch his or her breath. After all the air has been coughed out of the lungs, the patient helplessly gasps for the intake of breath which is what brings about the ‘whoop’ sound. This symptom is what makes this disease life-threatening, and if the patient is not put under intensive care, it might take the life of such patient, especially infants. Obviously, this is not a disease to be taken mildly! [6]
