Flu is an infectious disease that often starts with a fever and comes on quickly. It is caused by the flu virus and is very common during winter, although you can catch it all year round. Flu mainly spreads through coughing and sneezing, but you can also pick them from simply being near somebody who is infected or touching something an infected person is in contact with. High Fever
Fever is a common symptom of flu, but not everyone with flu will get a fever. Flu-related fevers come on suddenly and are usually high, 100 to 104 degrees Fahrenheit or higher in younger children that last up to a week. A fever is a sign that your body is fighting off an infection. Fever can make you feel uncomfortable and it can accompany a bunch of other symptoms that can last much longer. [1]
