Soy or milk protein intolerance
Infants often show some signs of intolerance or insensitivity to protein within the first few months after birth. Some babies might react to those food proteins present in the breast milk after a few hours, while the others might react to a formula based on either soy or cow’s milk. In these cases, their stools might have streaks of blood or mucus. Other symptoms include crying, distended belly, or failure to thrive. Diarrhea would often last for more than 2 weeks with the right treatment. [8]
