We have all experienced diarrhea at some points in our lives. It is a very common issue which affects millions of people in the country each year. In most cases, it is often a sign of an underlying condition. There is a variety of causes, ranging from infections, food intolerances or allergies, and even medication. 1Food poisoning

This is probably the most common cause of diarrhea, both in children and adults. Food poisoning often happens when you consume foods or drinks which are contaminated with harmful bacteria, which build up toxics and make you feel sick. The main reasons for food poisoning include poor sanitation or foods being kept at the wrong temperatures. In most cases, diarrhea will appear within 2 to 6 hours after ingesting the foods and last less than 2 days. In this condition, your stools might be watery or explosive. Some other common symptoms include weakness, vomiting, fever, and abdominal cramps. [1]
