Pain during sexual intercourse might be normal for many people. However, if it happens regularly or is very serious, it can indicate the presence of a medical condition, including cervical cancer. You might feel the pain during or after sex. Make sure to differentiate between your pelvic pain and usual menstrual cramps. Some women might experience pain during sex because of vaginal chances during peri-menopausal and menopausal periods. The vaginal walls would become less elastic, dryer, and thinner due to lower levels of estrogen. Thus, these areas can be irritated easily and cause pain.
