Yin Yoga Poses to Calm and Restore

Pigeon Pose

The pigeon pose can help improve mobility and flexibility, promote relaxation, boost digestion, as well as ease low back pain. Start on the knees and hands, then bring the right knee to the right wrist. Slowly lower the shin onto the mat. Lift the right hip and come onto the left foot’s toes, inching backward or forward until you feel comfortable around the hips. Next, lower the right hip. Put the left leg along the ground with toes facing straight back. The hands should be put under the shoulders, while the elbows should be bent slightly. Keep the spine aligned and breathe deeply. Walk the hands slowly forward while lowering the forehead and torso to the floor. Stay in the position for 5 minutes and repeat on the other side of the body. [1]
