Medicare-Approved Amount for Medicare Part A
Medicare Part A comes with a separate fee structure for hospitalization. These expenses arise once deductible of $1,484 has been met. And they are based on the number of days you are in the hospital. As of 2012, the amounts for each benefit period are as follow:
– Days 1 to 60: $0 coinsurance
– Days 61 to 90: $371 coinsurance each day
– After days 91: $742 coinsurance each lifetime reserve day
– After lifetime reserve days: 100 percent of the expenses
Medicare will cover all the approved expenses beyond the coinsurance amounts until the lifetime reserve days are used up. [5]
