Ulcerative Colitis Diet Plan: Best & Worst Food

Whole Grain

Whole grains are rich in fiber because of their bran or germ. Foods made from those ingredients tend to be more difficult for people with ulcerative colitis to digest. Thus, make sure to avoid macaroni, noodles, pasta, cereals, bread, and other foods that come from whole grain flours. During flare-ups, it is better to go for white pasta and bread. Cereals like wheat cream, oats, corn flakes, or puffed rice are also low in fiber. Consult your dietitian or doctor to find out which whole grains can fit your daily diet to alleviate flare-ups and speed up the healing process. [10]
