Possible Side Effects of Pantoprazole

Like most medications, pantoprazole may cause certain side effects. They can vary from person to person, depending on their age, health conditions, and other drugs that they are taking. Mild side effect may include gas, dizziness, diarrhea, belly pain, constipation, bloating, weight gain, vomiting, nausea, joint pain, or headache. These problems tend to disappear after several days or weeks. However, if they persist or worsen, make sure to talk with your doctor. While it is not common, more serious side effects may happen after taking pantoprazole. These may include low magnesium and vitamin B12 levels, lupus, acute nephritis, polyps, allergies, stomach cancer, severe diarrhea, and broken bones in the wrist, spine, or hip associated with osteoporosis.
