Organ Meats
Organ meats, such as heart, brain, kidneys, and liver, are very nutritious. All of these foods are rich in iron. For instance, a portion of beef liver provides up to 35 percent of the daily recommended intake. Many other nutrients can be found in organ meats as well, such as selenium, copper, and vitamin B. Liver is particularly high in vitamin A, which plays an important role in eye health and immune system. In addition, organ meats are one of the greatest foods to get choline, a substance for liver and brain health that most people do not get sufficiently in the diet. [4]
