4-7-8 Breathing
This breathing technique is based on a yoga pose that helps people control their breathing. When done properly, it may help bring the body into deep relaxation and promote sleep in a short period of time. To do it, simply follow these steps:
– Let the lips part gently
– Breathe out completely through the mouth and make a whooshing sound
– Breathe in silently while closing the lips and counting to four
– Hold the breath and count to seven
– Breathe out again for 8 seconds and make a whooshing sound
Repeat 4 times if you just start. When you get used to the exercise, try to do it 8 times. [3]
